Let’s be honest. Sit in a pet aisle long enough and it starts to feel like you’re buying food for a wolf that lives in a Manhattan loft. Every brand promises heritage ingredients, curated blends, slow-cooked this, essential that. AATU takes it a step further with its 80/20 formula - at least 80% meat, the rest a mix of botanicals that sound like they came from a homeopathy retreat: moringa, rosehip, seaweed, and so on. There’s a gentle irony to imagining your Boston Terrier benefiting from burdock root, but here we are.

Pricing and Promises

Premium food will always come at a premium price. A 10kg bag of AATU Free Run Duck Dry Dog Food clocks in at £21.99, or £13.96 per kg. Not extortionate, but far from bargain-bin kibble. Certainly, if you’re willing to pay for better ingredients and marginally better digestion. Also: you get to say things like "My Staffordshire Bull Terrier is on a duck and seaweed-based diet." Which, depending on your social circle, is either a conversation starter or ender.

It’s enough to offset shipping costs if you’re not quite at the free shipping threshold. If your dog - or wallet - is new to the brand, start small (1.5kg bags run £13–£15), and consider the bundle if they’re the loyal, eat-everything-once-it’s-in-the-bowl type. And remember: not every dog is a natural foragers of fenugreek and yucca. But apparently some are.
