Spring, according to the calendar and several Instagram posts, is here. Which means we’re all supposed to be outside, sipping something pink and fizzy, pretending we don’t still need a jacket. Restaurants know this, of course, and they’re leaning in hard. ASK Italian - one of the more polished mid-tier chains that has mastered the art of not over-promising - has launched its usual seasonal menu refresh. And with it: a free drink deal that’s not life-changing, but also not bad.

Free Sarti Spritz at ASK: Decent, Pink, and On the House

Throughout April, ASK is handing out a complimentary drink when you dine in and sign up for their "ASK Perks" loyalty program. It’s called the Sarti Spritz - essentially a pink riff on the classic Aperol format. Think bitter-sweet, vaguely citrusy, and mildly Instagrammable. You can also opt for a Limoncello Spritz, the original Aperol Spritz, or a mocktail if you’re driving, detoxing, or just don’t like fun.

To get the deal, you’ll need to hand over your email (and possibly your soul) to ASK Perks, their loyalty platform. In exchange, you get a voucher code for one free drink when you eat in. No minimum spend, though ordering a single Margherita pizza and sipping a spritz might make you feel like you’re gaming the system a little too hard. This is not a loophole worth exploiting for sport. Just order a starter.

Spring Flings and Menu Things

ASK’s Spring Menu runs the usual playbook: lighter dishes, some lemon, a few nods to "seasonal" ingredients. The desserts are trending towards the indulgent, which might be the point. The new additions include a Lemon Curd Tart and a Chocolate & Blood Orange Torte. Neither reinvents the genre, but both are pleasant enough if you’ve already committed to carbs and regret nothing.

Also back: the "Friendsday Wednesday" promotion - free dough bites when you mention the phrase to your server. It’s a gimmick, but a harmless one. Like your friend’s podcast, you don’t have to love it to support it.

The Offer: Worth It?

Getting a £7–£8 drink for free isn’t a bad trade for receiving a few polite marketing emails. Especially if you were going to end up at ASK anyway - post-shopping, pre-theatre, or when your group chat can't agree on anything more adventurous. The Sarti Spritz itself is light, drinkable, and unlikely to offend. It’s not revolutionary, but then again, neither is pasta primavera. That doesn’t mean we don’t order it.

Sign-up takes about 20 seconds. The vibe is casual, the décor is inoffensive, and the food is reliably better than your last supermarket meal deal. As far as chain restaurant perks go, this one is efficient, seasonal, and just charming enough to justify a second drink (which, to be clear, you will have to pay for).

Just don’t expect table-side serenades or a Negroni Sbagliato made by a tattooed mixologist named Luca. This is ASK, not Amalfi.
