Among the more understated victories of modern parenting is managing to get a baby dressed without triggering a full-blown existential meltdown - yours or theirs. Clothing manufacturers have not, historically, excelled in this department. Over-stitched seams, illogical popper constellations, and fabric made from something that feels suspiciously like reinforced paper towels have been standard issue for decades. So when MORI and KIDLY - two purveyors of what they call "design-led" babywear - joined forces, it made a kind of quiet sense. Neither brand is reinventing the onesie, nor claiming to. But if anyone was going to politely suggest a snapless zip and a bamboo-cotton blend, it was going to be them.
Still Not Reinventing the Sleepsuit, But That’s OK
MORI’s Clever Zip Sleepsuit (£32.50) is not wildly disruptive. But then, a truly revolutionary baby product usually ends up leaking. What we have here is marginal improvement executed with gentle intent: a zip that opens from the top or the bottom, which seems small until you’ve attempted a 3AM nappy change in semi-darkness while being screamed at. The fabric - organic cotton with a bamboo blend - is noticeably soft in that "is this for a baby or a skincare commercial?" kind of way. Whether your baby sleeps through the night wearing one is still mostly up to luck, genetics, and whether there’s a lorry reversing nearby at 4AM.
Summer Version, Slightly Less Fabric
There’s a lighter Ribbed Zip Summer Sleepsuit (£27.50) for the warmer months, which trades fleece-adjacent cosiness for breathability. Sensible. Less sensible are the pastel colour options, which will almost certainly match nothing else in your laundry rotation. But that’s fashion. Or at least, toddler-adjacent fashion. Functional, not fussy. Washes well, although "line dry only" may cause low-level resentment in anyone without a garden or an airing cupboard the size of a Tokyo apartment.
"On Sale" Considered Politely
They’re running the obligatory retail promotions at MORI: 25% off most full-priced items with the not-particularly-cryptic code SAVE25. That doesn’t include absolutely everything - but enough of the core range is covered to make it worth a look. If you’re trying to stock up ahead of a growth spurt, you could do worse. They also promise free UK standard delivery for orders over £65 (through Evri, which has earned a slightly complicated reputation - to put it generously).
Shipping, Returns, and the Fine Print
Orders typically dispatch within 48 hours, though anything personalised drags that out to five days. There’s a next-day delivery option starting from £6.95 if your supply of clean onesies is in crisis. Returns are straightforward, with a 30-day grace period. As usual, the requirement is that items remain unused and in original condition, which - anyone who’s ever attempted to redress a blowout will know - is a tall order.

KIDLY by MORI: Not a Revolution, But a Migration
You’ll see "KIDLY by MORI" dotted around the site now - KIDLY, known for straightforward, modern basics, has been absorbed into MORI’s umbrella. It doesn’t seem to have altered the DNA of either brand much, so think of it more like swapping seats on the same train. Items like the Striped Canvas Trainers (£24.00) are classic KIDLY: practical, cute enough. They do the job, even if you suspect your child would rather be barefoot or, better still, fully feral.
The Line Between Sleep Club and Subscription
Your inbox offers include 10% off your first order when you sign up to emails, access to their "Sleep Club" (a £14.90 monthly sleepwear subscription for the very committed), and various gentle nudges toward joining their parents’ FB group. Which, depending on your threshold for emoji-laden group chats, could be a benefit or a polite pass.
To their credit, MORI isn’t just selling softness - they’re making a solid case for sustainability, or at least not contributing quite so heavily to the polyester wasteland of toddlerwear. It’s unlikely any of their sleepwear will spark joy, at least not Marie Kondo's version, but the lack of annoyance might be the higher praise.
Verdict: A Quiet Upgrade Worth the Voucher
Soft, well-made, functional clothing for babies that might actually make your nighttime slog slightly less soul-crushing? Not revolutionary. Just decent. Which, when you're dealing with 3AM wakeups involving bodily fluids and malfunctioning zips, is more than enough.
Apply SAVE25 if you're looking to experiment. Buy two if you're hedging your bets against laundry day surprises. Just don’t expect miracles. Sleepwear is clothing, not sorcery.
