About Boyd

Boyd is an award winning adviser who assists companies obtain HMRC advance assurance for both Seed EIS and EIS, write investor documents and help them raise finance. He also acts as an investment manager on a number of SEIS and EIS investment funds.

Boyd specialises in SEIS and EIS investments, including HMRC advance assurance applications and drafting investor documents. Boyd also helps companies raise finance, invests in selected companies and acts as a director of numerous companies which have raised money via EIS. Boyd has authored several eBooks, such as The Sapphire Guide to SEIS and EIS as well as a guide to REITs and R&D Tax Credits.

Prior to Sapphire, Boyd was as a Director of PwC corporate finance in New York advising clients such as Apollo Management LP, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. He has experience in a wide range of investment funds, both offshore and onshore, and also advises on general corporate and commercial matters, including fund raising and secured lending.

Boyd is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to conduct investment business. He acts as an investment manager for a number of SEIS & EIS funds and is the honourary treasurer of a leading cancer charity.
