About their firm

Howard is a Commercial and Technology lawyer with specialism in Procurement and Outsourcing transactions, particularly for financial institutions.  Howard is a product of the dot.com boom. After first qualifying as a Barrister, he was drawn by the bright lights of the City where we worked for a short period in house at a Telecoms company and then Bird & Bird where he spent 6 years in London and Hong Kong doing a mixture of Corporate and Commercial transactions for starts-ups all the way up to banking institutions. This led him to a secondment at Standard Chartered Bank after which he was asked to stay and where he spent 8.5 years in their Commercial, Technology & Operations team rising to Head of Legal & Compliance, Commercial.

Howard has negotiated new and has refreshed legacy contractual relationships with some of the largest Tech companies (such as Oracle, Microsoft and SAP) for Standard Chartered Bank and other clients.

Howard is a very commercial lawyer with a strong legal technical foundation, all attributes that he brings to clients to help them get their deals done.

Within large scale and complex deals, Howard is keen to be involved in modelling them and to be involved in the formation and drafting of the commercial schedules to the contract, as he sees these as the most important parts.  As long as the commercial deal is clear between the parties, the contractual aspects will fall into place easily with Howard's involvement.
