About Julie

My practice focuses on the construction, engineering and energy sectors. I represent and advise clients on contentious national and international construction, infrastructure and oil and gas projects. I also give contract advice and negotiate and draft contract documentation. I have worked on a variety of bespoke and standard form contracts including FIDIC, NEC and JCT as well as framework, fit-out and services agreements.

I have specialised in the construction and engineering sector since qualifying as a solicitor at in September 1991. At Berrymans Lace Mawer, I became a partner at the age of 28 and represented and advised clients on a wide variety of infrastructure projects worldwide including airports, bridges, roads and dams. My clients have included engineers and their insurers, as well as developers, main contractors, energy and aerospace companies, specialist sub-contractors and suppliers.

I strongly believe that the management of risk is at the forefront of every successful project and can help you to limit disruption and disputes through awareness of potential pitfalls at the very early stages of a project and by the implementation of contractual dispute resolution measures.

When disputes do happen I will aim to limit the cost and disruption that they bring with them. I will assess, with an experienced eye, the strength of your position in legal terms, then advise on and support you through the best route for optimum results in resolving the dispute.
