The Guinness collaboration - yes, that Guinness - gives it a pub-level speciousness, complete with bespoke glassware that says "I own two books about beer" in a way that’s only slightly performative. Expect to get about 10 pints per batch, assuming some fidelity to serving size and no spillage during "quality control."

The Deal (and the Reality)

That’s part of the charm.

Verdict: Skeptically Impressed

The Pinter won’t turn you into a brewmaster. It won’t make beer better than your local brewery, unless your local brewery is, say, a train station Sbarro with three taps. What it does is make fresh beer that’s legitimately drinkable, without the mess or commitment of traditional homebrew. It’s adult science fair meets low-effort weeknight reward - and that's more than you can say about most countertop gadgets gathering dust.

So, yes, the Pinter is worth considering. Especially with a few freebies tossed in - although it’s still beer you made in a plastic container that looks vaguely like a Dyson accessory. Welcome to the future of mediocre genius.
