Anyone who’s ever bulk-ordered branded hoodies for a team trip, or tried to kit out a small army of interns in matching hats, knows the quiet pain of online promo product shopping. There’s the scrolling, the squinting, the slow realisation that what looked like a soft hoodie is actually stiffer than your work-from-home posture. The occasional existential dread that comes from deciding between 44 almost-identical drawstring backpacks. And the pricing games - always promising volume discounts and free shipping slightly past the point where you actually need it. Which brings us to Wordans.
Billing itself as a one-stop shop for wholesale apparel, promo gear, and customisable basics, Wordans is the kind of site that doesn't try to romance you with glossy lifestyle photography or lofty brand storytelling. It offers fleece, cotton, polyester and patience-testing product filters. There are hats. There are pens. There are deeply discounted blank T-shirts. And while it's not exactly a thrilling retail experience, it is, arguably, a functional one. That’s the point.
Wordans carries an eye-watering range of gear, from basic Gildan hoodies (£9.09, down from £24.56) to promotional soy candles (£7.30, a full 22% off the list price) to the kind of aluminium pens (£0.35) that populate trade show tables and disappear into glove compartments. Some of it is surprisingly decent - like the hi!dea 94602 vacuum-insulated bottle (£4.65), which boasts the kind of thermal retention you’d expect from more expensive names, minus the marketing.
Other items are best described as... plentiful. The hi!dea 81140 ball pen, for example, is available in six colours, comes in at £0.35, and writes "about as well as you’d expect a £0.35 pen to write," according to one actual human who tested it in a meeting and then accidentally walked off with it. Function: ticks the box. Experience: not the point.
You get the feeling Wordans has a warehouse, not a showroom - and that works in your favour. The discounts are almost suspiciously consistent: 30%, 40%, sometimes going all the way to 66%. Shipping is free starting from £69, which is easy enough to hit if you’re buying a dozen crewneck sweatshirts or a forest of reusable bottles. Below that threshold, delivery starts at £8.99, which is slightly on the high side given the baseline prices but not outrageous for bulkier orders.
They don’t make you jump through labyrinthine hoops for promo codes either - the deals are just baked into the pricing. There’s a clearance section, yes, but you don’t have to navigate there to save money. Frankly, Wordans seems to expect that if you’re here, you’re probably not the kind of person who wants to collect discount badges like Pokémon.
Support appears to be a priority, at least according to the homepage’s cheerful declarations. And while "Best Customer Support" is a bold phrase, Wordans does offer relatively responsive email service, and phone lines that are open during the kind of hours actual office people keep (9 to 12, then 1:30 to 4:30). It’s a narrow window, but the presence of a real phone number in 2025 is itself a small win.
The return policy is serviceable - 14 days to change your mind, and fair enough, considering most items here are intended for branding and resale. Customised goods, predictably, are non-returnable unless they arrive defective, so choose your fonts and colours with care. And possibly some internal polling.
Like a Swedish flat-pack shelf unit, this site isn’t trying to be artisanal. It’s trying to be reliable, predictably affordable, and somewhat impersonally practical. The fleece isn’t going to change your life. The lunchbox with bamboo lid (£5.68) won't revolutionise meal prep. But if you need 25 polos that look decent in a company group photo and won’t pill aggressively after two washes, you’ll probably find what you’re looking for here - with change to spare for a few novelty pens.
Just don’t expect Wordans to thrill you. Expect it to deliver on time, at the right price. And never underestimate the quiet satisfaction of a blank, reasonably priced T-shirt that doesn’t shout about it.
